Prior to establishing Equiterra Properties in 2004, David Loring served for fourteen years as Vice President of Development for DP Partners of Reno, Nevada. In that time, he was responsible for land acquisition, government entitlements, land & building planning, and design and construction nationwide for one of the country’s 50 largest industrial developers. Initial markets included Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada; with expansions into Atlanta, Georgia; Central Pennsylvania; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Bakersfield, California. While at DP Partners, David completed over 90 projects totaling in excess of eighteen million square feet with a combined construction value in excess of four hundred million dollars ($400,000,000.00).

In 2007, Loring formed an additional partnership with Schnabel Ventures - Development Arts - to develop, advise, and reposition large industrial projects for 3rd party entities.

David’s development responsibilities included retail projects as small as 8,000 square feet and distribution projects in excess of 800,000 square feet, as well as several business park developments; one exceeding 240 acres with total building potential exceeding 3.9 million square feet. In addition to master-planning and architectural design and construction, he has been responsible for street and utility infrastructure, special use permits, tax abatement and other government incentives, and environmental remediation. He was the managing principal for completing a dispute resolution with the Federal Government and the Army Corps of Engineers over environmental cleanup of a 100-acre portion of a former U.S. Air Force base. Additionally, David actively participated in the City of Sparks Comprehensive Master Plan update revisions; served as a founding member of the City of Reno Development roundtable; served as a member of the Northern Nevada Development Authorities’ local government liaison committee; and served on the Washoe County Regional Transportations Commission’s Traffic Impact Fee Advisory Committee. He currently serves as a founding member of the NAIOP Business Park Development Forum, part of the development industry’s national program for real estate executives.

Prior to his work at DP Partners, David served as a vice president for several different real estate development and construction companies, working in various capacities as a development and construction manager. His responsibilities included developing new business opportunities, providing pre-construction design coordination and design-build project administration for projects in Los Angeles and Orange County, California. Among the various projects that bear David’s thumbprint are suburban shopping centers; low- and mid-rise office buildings, industrial warehouses, multi-tenant flex industrial buildings, warehouse conversions to office and R&D, and build-to-suits for corporate clients such as Sperry, Univac and UPS. David also managed the initial phases of development for a mixed-use retail, office, hotel and apartment redevelopment project on a former school site in southeast Los Angeles County, and established a profitable tenant-improvement construction subsidiary which performed work within low- and high-rise office buildings as well as industrial and retail spaces.

David has been a registered architect in California since 1975 and practiced architecture in California for eight years prior to entering the property development business in 1979. He is married and has two grown children.
